India's SOP-first ERP consulting firm for MSMEs.
Process first. Technology second. No exceptions.
Wave 1 — 2017
Central Excise and VAT gave way to GST — a compliance overhaul that forced Indian MSMEs to upgrade their systems for the first time. Businesses that had operated on basic accounting and billing software — Tally and its equivalents — were suddenly navigating input tax credit, GSTIN, monthly returns, and e-way bills. The scramble drove software adoption, but the software adopted was still fundamentally ledgering tools. Record keeping dressed up as business management. Ledgering is not business growth. Business growth lives in planning, executing, and reviewing — and the basic applications of 2017 could not do any of that.
Wave 2 — 2020
COVID removed every remaining excuse for not transforming. Offices closed. Desktop software became inaccessible. The physical register and the server in the back room were suddenly liabilities. Businesses that had resisted cloud for years were operating on WhatsApp and Google Sheets because those were the only tools that worked. When businesses reopened, the decision could not be deferred: modernise operations or accept permanent fragility. COVID did not create the need for cloud — it made that need impossible to ignore.
Wave 3 — 2022
Post-COVID, cloud software became genuinely acceptable in Tier 2 and Tier 3 India — not just among tech-forward businesses, but among rice mill owners, steel traders, food processors, and automobile dealers. The infrastructure had arrived. The comfort had arrived. The need had been established by GST and confirmed by COVID. That convergence created a window that had never existed before: a genuine market for consulting-based business systems in Tier 2 India.
The founders saw this trajectory in 2018 — before most people were discussing it — standing in Raipur, a Tier 2 city surrounded by manufacturing, processing, and trading businesses at every scale.
They had also witnessed enough ERP failures to understand exactly why implementations failed. SAP, Oracle, custom-built systems — lakhs spent, months lost, teams resistant, systems abandoned. The pattern was always the same:
One morning, management would declare: from tomorrow, no more Excel. The team would be told the ERP was going live. Consultants would configure the software using the same broken process logic that existed in Excel — because nobody had stopped to redesign the operation first. The same undocumented exceptions. The same person-dependent approvals. The same chaos — now automated inside an expensive system.
Teams resisted not because they feared technology. They resisted because nobody had educated them. Nobody had explained why things needed to change. Nobody had redesigned the operation before loading it into the system. The learning curve was real, the competency gap was real, and nothing had been done to prepare for either.
"ERP is not a technology. It is the DNA of your business. It is the watchdog of your business processes and plans. It can only enforce good processes. If your processes are broken — undocumented, person-dependent, contradictory — ERP will faithfully enforce all of that. You will have spent lakhs to move faster in the wrong direction."
That understanding became Profezzo. Built to do what nobody else was doing in Tier 2 India in 2018: fix the process before touching the software.
